Lesson Information & Policies
Private lesson tuition includes 3 private lessons and 1 Studio Horn Ensemble rehearsal per month.
Studio Horn Ensemble is held on the 3rd Thursday of each month, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. "SHE" is held at Pleasant Grove High School (Band Room).
Additionally, one masterclass and recital are held each semester. Each student is expected to perform at each recital. Accompanist provided.
(See calendar for schedule details).
Makeup Lesson Policy:
If you need to miss a scheduled lesson, you may choose one of the following options:
1- Switch lesson times with another student. You may either switch for another day, or ask a student before or after you to take an hour lesson one week and you the next.
2- Attend a makeup lesson. Makeup lessons are in group lesson format, from 4:00 - 5:00 on the day of Studio Horn Ensemble. (See calendar)
Students are expected to come to each lesson on time and warmed up. Other expectations include adequate preparation (30 minute personal practice per day recommended), bringing all applicable materials to each lesson, curriculum advancement and recital participation.
I do not have a policy regarding guest attendance during a lesson. I encourage students and parents to decide whether a parents’ presence during a lesson would be productive or not. This will depend largely on the student’s personality.
Although I hold a strict policy against answering my own phone during lesson times, I do answer my cell phone in between lessons. Because it is your lesson time, you may use your phone during your lesson if you choose.
Students are expected to provide their own instrument, cleaning supplies, and music.
Specific required texts and materials can be viewed on the curriculum.
Shane Bowles is our studio accompanist. Included with your lessons are one run-through before each recital, and the recital performance. Additional rehearsals can be scheduled for $15.00 each.
Shane can be reached at 801-971-1959 or email@example.com
(9295 N 3377 E, Eagle Mt., UT 84005)
You may provide your own accompanist, but must rehearse with them a minimum of two times before the recital.
