Mind Mapping (of visitor), a minimal light installation--Bangkok, 2007

-Reflected stickers on wall in the dark room, using candle to view the work The little reflective stickers were replaced the previous clues of activities which left evidences on room’s floor and walls. Like reading wall painting in ancient cave, human/ archaeologists try to narrate what are previous human leaves messages by linking all elements they found from same space and period. Therefore, the painting elements could be dissimilar narrated by different visitors.

I visited a home of Cassette café and find this back room. It’s full of clues of what was happened here. Finger prints, foot prints, marking tape, clues of rain drop on the wall, plastic colour on the ground and many other clues have left their histories.

I cleaned all the room to be white cube again by covering all clues with white round shape reflective stickers. And if audience would like to see the form of the clue again, they can view them by using candle lights or take photo of the room with flash light. The clues will then reflect back to audiences.

In this way audience can imagine in difference way how the room was by the shape of the clues in this dark room.

This work is a part of the show “Gift of Tongues” which organized by Conference of Birds at Casstte Café. The show was curated by Andrews Little and Tintin Cooper.
