Media Study

Research in this work package covers a large-scale content analysis of a sample of news stories about immigration and integration. This content analysis is carried out on the basis of a joint coding scheme, and covers a number of topics:

• changes in the number of and types of claims made on the social and political participation of immigrants
• whether changes in the claims are related to changes in the way the news about immigrants is framed
• whether changes in the claims are related to (changes in) the institutional or social context
