Left--A section of "downtown" Kampot. Kampot town is a quiet provincial capital of approximately 30,000 people. It is located on a river 3 miles from where it empties into the sea (next 2 photos). Also, it is about 4 hours by bus from the national capital of Phnom Penh.

Solaid operates in a rural village area about 10 kilometers from Kampot town.

Most Cambodian men spend at least a few weeks of their lives living as monks in a Buddhist monastery. Some, however (like those pictured) live in a monastery for a number of years.
