Laminate Flooring

A survey course that introduces students to various skills required to maintain a home. Students will frame, wire, and drywall a wall section. A small laminate floor section complete with baseboards will also be produced.

Projects Include:

• • Framing & Drywalling a Wall Section

  • Patching a Hole in a Wall

  • Wiring a Light, Switch, and Receptacle

  • Mounting objects on a wall using stud finders and anchors

  • Cutting hinge gains/slots

  • Constructing and installing a small door and door jamb

  • Installing a basic lockset

  • Constructing a floor platform and laying and cutting laminate flooring
