Infinity G48

Alright ladies and gents quick throwing this page together for people to look up who what why where when as the build progresses.

youtube playlist for this entire build

this is a 2007 G35, 6mt, leather 2wd, i purchased off facebook marketplace for 4k, pretty clean in my eyes.

i theorized alot of things i might do to it, one thing for sure was i wanted to use the stock cd009 6spd manual trans adapted to the LS engine for some R&D and to pass off the learning and see how it all works and build a fun stick shift car.

so i went back and forth a few times on a few kits and settled on LOJ Conversions, only about 2 hours away small new jersey business cranks out flawless products, and the more i read about what they sell the more i wanted to use them.

at first i was just gunna put the motor in, and run my holley hp setup i had laying around, and then i realized he sells a 100% integration kit, that uses all stock accessories in the stock spots, and even a can bus translator where everything in the dash will work, of course this is more expensive but i was really interested in a complete bolt in kit, since i never do that, and while i was on the subject of doing stuff in ever do, stickshift, IRS, import, all motor, i figured why not get a complete bolt on kit and see if it actually bolts in. since my little guy was born i am also strapped for extra time so i figured this would really speed up the process and make the car a joy having power everything and AC and everything working!

i bought the LOJ ultimate swap kit, that literally comes with everything brand new including the kitchen sink.

anyway i settled on my favorite the 4.8, i got a 2008 *gen4 because i need to use gen4 ecu and harness to use canbus translator to make everything in the car work*

then on a ebay 15% off day i bought a sloppy stage 2 *(elgin 1840p 228/230) camshaft and pac 1218 springs for 315$ shipped.

i have approximately 700 into the whole long block, i literally just did the cam and springs, and then put the whole kit together wich was amazingly complete and had zero issues, and had it done in less than 12 hours without some nit pick stuff i wanted to do like add in flex fuel sensor and tidy some things up.

so lets summarize, 2008, ly2, 4.8 out of a savanna van, with 188k miles, untouched other than SS2 cam and pac springs, LOJ oil pan, stock intake, stock injectors, stock fuel rails, i installed TR55 plugs and tuned it on E85 and it made 356whp and 308ftlbs of tq to the tire.

next up on the list was a nitrous kit graciously provided by Nitrous Outlet, this is to give people and idea of what to expect and how i did it, if they want all motor and only want power sometimes this is a great turn on and use whenever option.

i got a single nozzle universal EFI kit from Nitrous outlet with a Winmax box (a small microprocessor that controls the kit, really really highly recommend this on a stickshift car as its easy to bog and blow the intake off the car or worse when spraying big*

i installed br7ef plugs *colder safer for spray* and then hit it with 100 and then 150 shots on e85 also, and produced the results below

here is a video of the 2nd time i went to the dyno and maxed out the small kit

when i first got the blower on i was too impatient to finish the air to water intercooler setup so i took it to the dyno and literally used garden hose off the sink and ran that through the intercooler plate to cool it off to get the intial tuning done and see the results of the blower, really awesome to say the least!

it produces 13.5psi off idle and 15 flat at 7000rpm and made 570whp and 520ftlbs of torque as peaks, but the really amazing thing of having the blower is the low end power also, i picked up 233ftbls and 250hp from motor to blower.

the car makes 450+ftlbs of torque at 2000rpm now
