Day 1: 6/15/2008
Drove to Sandusky today around 5pm, got our ferry tickets, and then got dinner at Subway. We went back to the ferry, loaded up our bikes, boarded, and took off for Pelee Island.

The trip took about an hour and a half, but it was really cool becuase we got to watch a gorgeous sunset, a fantastic lightning storm, and a barge pass by.
We had fun watching the other passengers on board and arrived at the port around 10:15. We got off, talked to the very nice customs man, and headed to our campground.

It was windy and a little chilly, and we got sprayed by the lake on the first road we were on. Steven's light worked great and after about only 3.5 miles, we got to the campground. It was really dark and we didn't see an office building or anything, so we walked around for a half hour or more trying to find on, only to settle down on a random site and try not to get bit by too many mosquitos. We managed to get the tent up, the gear inside, and the bikes covered up for the night even with all the bugs out. Inside the (mostly) bug free tent, we put all our stuff on one side, spread out our sleeping bags, and went to bed. We were planning on getting up at 5:15 to catch the 7:00 ferry to the mainland, but that didn't exactly happen....
