My research

I am an economist employed as a Full Professor at Ulm University and fellow of the CESifo research network.

Previously, I was employed as Professor for Behavioral and Experimental Economics at LMU Munich, and worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Thurgau Institute of Economics and the University of Konstanz.

My research covers topics from Labor and Organizational Economics, Political Economy, Environmental Economics, and Economic Decision-Making, more generally.

I combine different empirical approaches using survey and administrative data, company data, and experimental data (lab, online, and field experiments) to answer research questions relevant for researchers and practitioners alike.

I am particularly interested in sustainable organizational structures in dynamic decision environments. I seek to particularly understand how technological change affects optimal incentives, leadership structures, and decision rules within groups, firms, or institutions (taking individual preferences, norms, and behavioral biases into account). As such, I am also interested in evaluation studies in cooperation with business partners.
