When is a good time to get started?
Like most Cub Scout Packs, we have events year-round. We have regular meetings from September - May and plan monthly events throughout the summer. You can become a scout at anytime. Use the Contact form or just visit one of our meetings and we'll show you around.
If you have an interest in learning more about our Pack, if you have questions, or if you are ready to get started, please click here and fill out our website form. It only takes a minute and we will contact you shortly.
When do we meet?
Pack Meetings are normally held the last Monday of each month and all of our scouts (K-5th grade) get together in the same place. The meeting is normally led by the Cubmaster. Keep an eye on the calendar for the date. You are welcome to stop by if you are considering joining the pack. We gear the meeting towards the kids and the goal is to have fun and recognize them for their recent accomplishments (with awards, pins, loops, badges, and whatever else we dream up).
Den Meetings (when just one age group meets - with the Den Leader) are normally held every Monday except for Pack meeting Mondays or when Union County schools are out of session.
To verify meeting times, you can check the calendar here.
What is the Cost of Joining?
First - don't let the cost scare you off. It's not that expensive and our Pack may be able to assist if you need help. The person to see about assistance is the Committee Chair. This will be kept between you and them but you can tend to that later. Our dues include fees to paid to Scouts BSA and our local Council. The rest helps us to fund events and allows the pack to provide the advancement loops or pins for the Scouts.
Second - The fee is $85.00 in the fall and spring. We do offer a discount for multiple scouts. A uniform and handbook are required. See the appropriate den uniform site for what parts of the uniform are required and optional. Then you can visit the online Scout Shop for current prices.
We are not worried about the fees being paid up front. We can work with you. Scouting is actually quite reasonable considering all that your Scout will be doing throughout the year. Don't let the cost get in the way of your decision.
