Cub/Parent Weekend is a great way to get your new or existing Cub Scout outdoors for a day and night full of fun, fellowship, and outdoor experience!
Cub Parent Weekends are hosted at Camp John J. Barnhardt in New London, North Carolina. Camp Barnhardt is over 1,000 acres of beautiful, rolling wooded hills beside Badin Lake and is one of the premier Scout camps in the Southeast. Camp Barnhardt features fun-filled activities for Cub Scouts, siblings and parents. Activities during your weekend will include ARCHERY, PERSONAL FITNESS, FIELD GAMES, BB GUNS, FIRE BUILDING, and an exciting EVENING CAMPFIRE.
Camp Barnhardt has wall tents on platforms with cots. If you do not wish to sleep in these tents, you are welcome to bring your own. Please carpool and pack light as vehicles will stay in the parking lot.

Cost: $20.00 per person, non-refundable. Fee includes breakfast, patch for all participants, activities and program materials. Siblings ages 6 and up may participate with a paid fee. Siblings under 6 may attend but will not be able to participate in activities. If you want a Cub/Parent weekend t-shirt, you must pre-order the shirt. All sizes are $15.00. Payment is required with your registration.
Camp Rules: no use of tobacco, no alcohol, no pets, no firearms, no video games or television and no fireworks. The Scout attending must be a registered Cub Scout.
What To Bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight, toothbrush, rain gear, jacket (evenings can get cool) and hat. Place sleeping items in a heavy-duty garbage bag for the Scout to carry or in a waterproof duffel bag or backpack. The walk to your campsite could be 1/4 mile or more.
DRESS ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER! The event will be held Rain or Shine.
Meals: Dinner on Saturday is on your own. It should be kept simple, or bring precooked. Breakfast is the only meal that will be provided.
