The Official Uniform
The Official Cub Scout Uniform is commonly referred to as a Class A Uniform. For Lions, see below for special uniform requirements. For some events, uniforms are not required but it is a good idea to wear your pack t-shirt.
Required:
- Shirt - The official blue uniform shirt is available with long or short sleeves and has button-flap pockets. Arrow of Light (5th grade) wear the tan shirt that they will wear through Scouts BSA. Webelos (4th grade) can wear either at the discretion of the Pack.
- Pants - Shorts, long pants, skorts, and roll up pants all are in official blue. Arrow of Light (5th grade) wear the green pants that they will wear through Scouts BSA. Webelos (4th grade) can wear either at the discretion of the Pack.
- Belt - Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle or the green web belt with BSA buckle for Webelos/AOL.
- Hat - Official blue hat with appropriate Den color and emblem.
- Neckerchief - Triangular neckerchief with appropriate Den color and emblem. Official BSA neckerchiefs are the only neckerchiefs that are part of the uniform.
- Neckerchief Slide - Official gold-tone metal slide with appropriate Den color and emblem. Cub Scouts may wear handmade neckerchief slides.
- Lion Adventure Book
Optional:
- Official Socks - available in three lengths: ankle, crew, and knee. Bear socks have a yellow band on the top
- Webelos Colors -The Webelos Colors is an optional uniform piece for Webelos and AOL that is worn on the right sleeve to display the Webelos Adventure Pins that have been earned. If the Webelos Colors are not used, Webelos Adventure Pins may be worn on the Webelos hat.
Note: Patch placement is the same for all ranks. See the webelos image for appropriate locations.
Note: The Wolf rank is going through a rolling change from yellow neckerchief and hat to red. Either is acceptable.
