Water Garden 3

Water Garden 3 is built on a higher elevation to all other water gardens. It is evident the natural elevation of the ground is followed by the engineers of Sigiriya.

Water Garden 3 displays simpler features than the others. And it breaks the symmetry (a feature seen in other water gardens in Sigiriya) of the garden plan by building totally different structures on the North and South sides.

There exists an octagonal pond on the northern half of the garden and a flipped 'L' shaped shallow pond on the southern half. The large boulder next to the octagonal pool separates the water garden from the Boulder Garden. The octagonal pool is linked to this boulder.
