K L Bhat

Khanaya Lal Bhat, youngest son of late Taravati and Hakim Shyam Lal Bhat was born in Srinagar, Kashmir; He did his schooling from National High School Srinagar and passed FSC from S.P College Srinagar in the year 1960. He joined Govt. Medical College in 1961 and completed MBBS in 1966. Completed his residency in CMC Vellore, Madras and from there went overseas to Australia and the United Kingdom in the year 1969. He got married to Dulari Kaul (we in home call her Sushma Je) daughter of late Jankinath Kaul proprietor of M/S Mahinder Nath Jankinath of Lal Chowk in the year 1972.

In the year 1975, he completed FRCS from Edinburgh and returned to India and worked in Kashmir as a general surgeon. He also worked in Saudi Arabia as a general surgeon.

He left Kashmir in the year 1990 and settled in Delhi since then. He has been working in Maharaja Agrasain Hospital as a senior Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon.

He has two sons, Shivas and Shagun. Shivas is a wonderful gentleman (MCA) and is an IT Professional working in London. He married Nidhi Raina (MBA). Shagun is PhD in Environmental Engineering from Rice University in Houston.He is the first male member of the dynasty from Tatha Je's side to have accomplished this great feat.His success has elated all of us. He married Samihita Kaw (MBA)
