I guess everybody knows what Samsung Galaxy Note is. Model number GN-N7000. Introduced in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 11/11/2011 by Celcom. What a nice date. Since then I said to myself "I will get one of that thing". At that time my mobile phone is Omnia. The very first Samsung Omnia i-900. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1 but I upgraded it to WM 6.5. Been using it for more than 3 years now. To be exact, I bought it on 20 Oct 2008.
Last Friday, 2nd Dec 2012. I finally got the Samsung Galaxy Note (Note) with a price tag of RM2,170 comes with free clear screen protector. The first place I go to buy Note is Celcom Jalan Ampang. They are the one who launch it of course I will buy from them and I am a Celcom customer for more than a decade. At least this is what I do to support them. When I reach there, they said 'Oh... we don't sell to existing Celcom customer. you have to register a new Celcom line in order to get it from us and to enjoy the discounted price (the package)' What the heck!?!?!. Stupid Celcom.
So, I left Celcom for Low Yat. There is where I got my Note for RM2,170.00. The cheapest I can get is RM2,150 with screen protector but I don't know why I go for RM2,170. May be I am as stupid as Celcom.
Today is my 6th day playing with Note. Note got a lot of new features compared to my Omnia. Omnia is 3 years old phone what do you expect, right? Only today I figured out how to sync my contact in Outlook with Note. Been googling last few days but they are all recommending using the 3rd party application or client. Note can sync contact with Exchange very smoothly but not Outlook.
How do I manage to Sync with Outlook? simple, install Samsung Kies. That is it. As simple as that. download it here http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as?mcc=502#supportedphones run it to install, when installation is done, connect the Note via USB cable and run the Kies on PC. Walla.... you are done.
One thing I found that I dont like with Note. When I read the emails and delete it, the new screen will show the older email instead of the newer one. This is the same as my Omnia but in Omnia there is setting I can change it. In note, no setting. I can't find it or may be there is no way I can change it. Again... stupid. 1 minus point to Note.
Here are the pictures of Note's box. I don't have the picture of the Note because Im using it as a camera.
Take note the label on top of the box 'Flip Cover'. So make sure you got the flip cover for free when you buy Note. If the seller try to sell it for additional RM150.00, get lost. He try to con you.
It is a 16Gb. No 32Gb available at the time I bought it. Actually, Note is available in white color. But not in Malaysia. Too bad.
