Sunday 25th August 2024.

The start, finish and car parking are in Wales, just as they were last year. 
However, we have not been granted permission to close the motorway this year so the route will run on the accessways to the side of the main carrigaeway.  

The  event will  be fully permitted and insured as usual. 

Start - The Severn Bridge 10k  event will be based at the Chepstow end of the bridge at the bottom of the slip road from J2.   

The 2024 course (10k only this year) will have been measured and certified as accurate by an accredited AUKCM course measurer.

We will have a UKA permit

There is easy access to the race event base and car park from junction 2 of the M48. There is ample free car parking within 10 mins walk of the  start. 

In order to cut down on waste and to reduce the event's environemnetal impact both medals and t-shirts are add-on purchases this year.  

You can expect all the features of a quality and well organised  event:  

• Reliable RFID disposable bib chips for timing.

• Well marked and marshaled route

• Course measured and certified as accurate and UKA Race Permit

• Free car parking

• Ample safe toilet facilities 

• No overcrowding

• Drinks station on the route 

• Prompt results' service

• Specially designed medal for all finishers - purchase at entry point

Prizes

Trophies and prizes for the 10k in 2024 will be based on 'chip to chip times'. This is to ensure all participants are able to distance appropriately at the start. Be aware that the first past the finish line may not be the winner. Results are based on race time not race position. Awards go to: 

• Men and Ladies overall (cash prizes): 1st (£60), 2nd (£40), 3rd (£30). 1st placed man and lady receive trophy. 2nd and 3rd receive medal award. There will also be medals and vouchers for these age categories: V40, V50, V60, V70 for both men and ladies. Team prizes - by position - 3 to count.  Only 1st man and lady to receive prizes on the day. The rest to be sent later by post. 

Only 1st man and lady prizes/trophies will be awarded on the day. All other prizes are sent in the post. 

It is anticipated that podium places and category winners will be contacted before 9th September to confirm their postal address. We need to wait at least a week before contacting to ensure all results queries are tidied up. Thanks for your patience.
