Words Their Way

The following is Elizabeth Guli's description of how she uses word sorts from the program Words Their Way in a high school reading class focused on foundational skills. Helen Maniates, the director of the Masters in Teaching Reading at USF, describes Words Their Way as a constructivist approach to word study. The approach integrates critical thinking and inquiry while teaching basic skills.
