The Raingutter Regatta, in which boats race along a narrow channel, has two versions. The wind-powered version uses sailboat designs, and the boats are blown down the channel. The propeller-powered version uses motorboats driven by propeller. Pack 994 uses wind-powered sailboats. This year we will be using fans for wind.
Bring your Raingutter Regatta boat and come in for a fun time of racing boats. Please bring your own drinks, food, chairs, and boats.
The Boat Build day will be at the October pack meeting. Boat blanks will be provided along with tools.
During registration each boat will be given a number that will be put on the top of the boat. Boats will then be raced in one or more heats. After all boats in the rank have raced a group picture will be taken to determine the awards for best design, most patriotic and funniest.
We will need day-of helpers to register the boats as well as multiple timers to time the heats at each rain gutter. Timing is very easy to do using your smartphone stopwatch.
