SciWrite Tip of a day: One way to excel in the scholarly journey is to learn from the “giants,” the well-established scholars in your field: reading and understanding their papers, visiting their research groups and personal websites, networking with members of their research teams, if possible, among other aspects. Google Scholar provides an easier approach to identify leading scholars in your research interests. From your Google Profile page, click the desired research field. Google Scholar will list top scholars according to their number of citations. You can then pick a scholar with the highest citation count, and follow his/her research trends.
Follow the scholar
Understand his/her publications
Learn the cultural and conduct aspects of his/her research group
Understand the projects they do
If possible, try to create a network with the members of the group; or try to establish collaborations
Therefore, I would encourage scholars as well to create a habit of building their personal homepages or personal webpages in their universities, where they will deposit their research activities and research outputs
