The lab is currently recruiting new lab members with different backgrounds and qualifications. We are interested in people that are driven and are willing to share their passion for neuroscience. If you have a creative and critical mind, and a strong collaborative attitude...come: this is the place for you!

People with highly quantitative backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Please include the name of two references for letters of recommendation. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact Annalisa (scimemia@gmail.com).

Currently available positions include (but are not limited to):

1. Graduate Student

The purpose of this post is to understand the role of neurotransmitter transporters in shaping synaptic transmission in cortical circuits.

It involves the use of electrophysiological (patch-clamp) recordings, two photon laser scanning microscopy and optogenetics.

2. Postdoc

This post is designed for people that are interested in understanding the coupling of calcium influx and neurotransmitter release at central synapses. Previous experience with electrophysiology is highly desirable. It involves the use of two-photon imaging approaches and computer modeling.

3. Special opportunities

The lab is open to research internships from international candidates at the graduate and postdoctoral level.
