Home
Welcome to the website of the Sun City Center Tillers & Toilers. In this website we have general information about our gardening club as well as helpful gardening links. Growing vegetables in Florida has its own challenges but can be very productive and rewarding. If you'd like to swing by and tour the gardens, we are located at 1516a West Del Webb Blvd.
Each garden plot is “managed” individually. Members work the soil, plant, weed, and harvest their own plot. If you are visiting, please do not disturb any of the plants or pick any of the flowers or produce.
The Tillers & Toilers Gardening Club has approximately 150 members, including full members, plot helpers, and Friends of the Garden. Our gardening plots range in size from small 4' x 10' mini plots to larger 17' x 32' garden plots. Each assigned plot is yours to plant, maintain, and harvest.
Other Membership Types
Plot Helpers assist a garden member in tending their plot.
Friends of the Garden do not work a plot but are part of the club. They receive club emails and are welcome at all Tillers & Toilers events, including Thursday morning coffee gatherings.
Who Can Join
Membership is open to all Sun City Center Community Association (CA) members.
Club Activities
Members often meet at the garden pavilion on Thursday mornings for coffee, treats, and friendly gardening conversations. We also host an excellent Christmas Potluck, participate in Fun Fest, and engage in other activities on the Sun City Center main campus.
A great time to visit the pavilion is Thursday at 9:00 AM. You’ll have the chance to meet gardeners, see the plots, and learn more about the Tillers & Toilers in a relaxed, informal setting.
We look forward to welcoming you to the gardens!
If you’re interested in becoming a full member with your own garden plot, please note that there is usually a waiting list, and it may take several months before a plot becomes available.
To begin the process, you must be a CA member and complete a membership application.
