Who
Tutoring is for students not fully served by the education system.
If the teacher is moving to quickly through the material and the student is getting left behind, we can help.
If a student has no regularly accessible teacher. For example, a distance education course, or preparation for a standardized test, we can be the teacher.
If a student wants to boost their grade by getting all the help they can to come to a full and deep understanding of the material, we can help.
If the student has to miss class, and needs a few lessons from a teacher to catch up, we can help.
If a student has forgotten or not understood previous material, and the teacher doesn't have time to review old concepts, we can help.
If a student is not being challenged in class and wants to be able to learn more advanced material or work on real challenges based on the current ideas, we can help.
Tutoring allows a student to work at exactly their own pace with a teacher that is knowledgeable in the subject area. A teacher that can take the time to answer any questions the student might have.
When
Tutoring is a focused one teacher to one student learning time. This is something that is generally not provided in the regular system. If you have not received the attention you need in the classroom, due to not understanding quickly enough, missing class, or other reasons, we can help.
One knowledgeable teacher to one attentive student allows a student to ask whatever they want, and get a real direct answer that is not possible in a classroom setting, or from a book.
The best time to get help is now. The earlier you get the help you need, the better you can learn new material, and the more familiar you will be with the ideas when the time comes to apply them.
