Dan graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Honours Physics Co-op, Specializing in Astrophysics. He then spent a year tutoring in Waterloo before going to Nipissing University for his Bachelor of Education degree, graduation in 2007.
Dan began tutoring other students while still in high school. Ever since graduating from university he has been private tutoring for students, first in Waterloo, then after 2008, in Sault Ste. Marie. From the end of 2008 to 2013 Dan worked at Scholars Education Centre, working with post secondary, high school and elementary students on math. Dan is also employed on contract at Sault College in the Academic Upgrading department as the evening Math instructor.
