The Fastest Growing Sport in America
Pickleball is a new sensation sweeping the nation. This hot sport, a cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis, is winning over the hearts of many athletes, and we offer it right here in Sandpiper. Pickleball is played on a 44 by 20 foot court, 1/4 the size of a tennis court and with a lower net. The smaller size means it requires less mobility, giving people of all ages and abilities more opportunities to maintain a rally and react to opponent advances. But it’s quite possibly the social element that is most enjoyable. Click on The Basics for much more information->
In winter, our club plays at 8:00 AM, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, at the courts on the West side (by the Clubhouse). Also Thursday and Sunday at 600 PM, under the lights.
In summer, some travel to Auburndale where we can play indoors with air-conditioning (see green link). Anyone showing up will be rotated in and can start playing. We have a very social group that is willing to help newcomers. The club has paddles and balls for your use.
