WE ARE ALWAYS PLEASED TO WELCOME NEW MEMBERS & VISITORS TO OUR GROUP.
We issue a Journal twice a year in March and October, but unfortunately our meetings have had to be cancelled at the moment due to unavailability of any of the officers of the society.
Our meeting planned for Sunday 22nd March 2026 at the Hornsbury Mill, Chard is cancelled. If anyone volunteers to step into the breach then future meetings may be able to resume. Given the relatively healthy nature of our finances annual subscriptions for the Journal will not be required at the moment. An online copy of the Journal is available here, password protected in the usual manner.
Our Autumn meeting this year was on Sunday 19th October 2025 with Bill Pipe displaying "WWI Naval Centres" and Nick Bridgwater on "Taxes", "Free Trade" and on slightly smutty postcards. We were in a somewhat smaller room, the Coachroom, as the Hornsbury Mill is now doing a carvery on Sundays. An online copy of the Journal is available here, password protected in the usual manner.
Our Spring meeting took place on Sunday 23rd March 2025 with displays from John Cowlin on "Money to 1945", Bill Pipe on "Somerset & Dorset Railway updated" and Nick Bridgwater on "Coaching". The annual subscription of £15 was also due, see the meeting invite here for details of how to pay if you did not attend the meeting. An online copy of the Journal is available here, password protected in the usual manner. See here for a report of the meeting.

An online copy of the Autum 2024 Journal is available here, password protected in the usual way. It was agreed that the annual subscriptions for 2025 would increase to £15 per annum, primarily to cover the increasing costs of postage of the Journal which has increased twice this year.
