Description
Stranded and alone in an eerie series of caverns, a lone robot hopes to find his way to the surface. Surrounded by the discarded industry and production of a once great factory, he must make his way through a treacherous labyrinth of grottos. Many obstacles lie ahead, but he must overcome all of them to ever have a hope of seeing the sunlight again. Flux is a puzzle platformer based around the idea of magnetism. The robot you control has the ability to both push and pull objects and you use this ability to navigate the levels and fight enemies.
Flux was created using the Java framework LibGDX. The framework is shipped with Box2D physics, but I thought that it was overkill for my purposes so instead I created my own basic physics engine from vector calculations. The game is very simple to play, but hard to master. The player uses a magnetic ring around their robot to push or pull objects (both static and dynamic) and can also move with the basic movement keys. Flux is packaged as an executable .jar and requires Java to run.
