In Taiz governorate, SAJAIA has received reports about increasing number of IDPs coming from Taiz city and residing in Haifan district. SAJAIA planned for urgent intervention in collaboration with generous benefactors who showed impressive attitude and willingness to help.
Later SAJAIA called its volunteers to prepare the stage for distribution process of 200 food basket targeting 1,400 individuals. The process started by purchasing food basket from food suppliers, storing purchased materials and transfers these materials to food distribution points. The plan identified several centers in Haifan district and successfully distributed food basket. During the implementation, more number of IDPs were flowed into the area which required SAJAIA to call for further intervention which was met by other INGOs and local NGOs.
SAJAIA launched its humanitarian activities and performed general food distribution for 500 food basket in Sana'a city targeting Shoub and Sawaan districts by direct beneficiaries of 500 households (3,500 individuals). SAJAIA conducted assessment and identified people in need including IDPs and effected host communities and later solicited these cases to private sector, INGOs and benefactors and was then able to collect the appropriate amount of fund and implemented the distribution activities in targeted areas. The distribution activities was done in accordance to a well plan that divided beneficiaries into separate groups and assigned them to different locations at different times which allowed the process to move smoothly.
SAJAIA has invited benefactors to witness the activities that were impressed and expressed their happiness for these efforts and high quality of work.
