Tour De Britain-Land`s End to John O`Groats

My life is full of fantastic dreams since childhood, many dreams have beenrealized, there are many dreams still need my effort. Although some people say that dreams are air, and sometimes very real, but if you put it into action, we will truly feel the meaning of life.

Travel around the world is what I always dreamed of, and often envy those who travel abroad. , and sometimes forget to think about. After entering university, the idea of burning up again, to cycle around Britain.

I started the preparation for the tour from early 2011, but it was delayed because of different kinds of factors. No one believed that I can complete the trek. Until two weeks before the commerce of my journey, I have not made any significant preparation. Finally, the certify the route Land`s end to John O`Groats, which is regarded as the greatest adventure in the Uk. After drawing the route on the map, buying equipment, preparing food, clothing, contact Mencap for claiming do charity for them etc, I set up for the journey to Land`s end on July 17th, 2011 without any experience by myself.

After 21 days, 1183 miles cycling, I arrived John O`Groats on August 6th and became the first Chinese who complete the journey, even with charity for British.

During the journey, I overcame plenty of difficult, such as the terrible weather, bumpy road，lack of energy, hungry etc. I nearly gave up sometimes, but never. Thanks goodness, I get a lot of help from people along the road and they are really mindful and warmhearted. I have learned so much from British people and get better understanding of the UK. On the other hand, people were moved by me for my hard working and give me honor for do charity for British as a foreigner. Usually, the old said “your are so brave”, the middle said “fantastic”and the youth said“you are crazy and that is unbelievable” when they heard my story on the way. The people were very gentle when I ask for sponsor during the journey.
