Two players perform a conventional ancient HI 3-minute rush, but the difference here is that they both rush the same opponent, usually on the flank. Each player produces 4 or 5 HI and 1 LI and heads off to the enemy, timed to attack within 30 seconds of each other so the pocket player needs to go earlier, possibly with one unit less. Each player attacks a different city though both are responsible for covering the HI with their LI against defending FA. The objective is to eliminate a single opponent by the 4-minute mark by capturing all cities. The rusher who takes the capital will be compensated with the sack bonus and so will be able to keep apace with other players in the game. The player who attacked the Expansion City will not be in a good position economically and so should boom.
It must be remembered that if successful, both rushers are quite vulnerable and despite having the extra player, the next few minutes are vital and that these two players need to combine to stay ahead of a single economically superior player.
The capital rusher will normally be the flank player as this will be easier to time the two attacks, but it can make more sense for the pocket player to do this as he will be stronger and in a geographical position to shield the expansion city rusher.
Any land map, using good rushing nations like Japan, Germany, and Aztecs. This strategy works well for 2, 3 or 4 player teams. A 4-player team can try a double doubling rush!
