May to June 2014:
Hi Rey, Bow! You're one super physician, educator, mentor, husband, dad and friend. We are extremely fortunate to know you up close. What an inspiration and model you are to many young doctors and aspiring surgeons ... for your discipline, passion and dedication to your profession and generosity in sharing your knowledge, and also in teaching your medical students how it is to be compassionate. I have heard many times from patients how much more tolerable is their condition when they have a compassionate doctor who truly cares. No doubt you have made your mark in this world. The world has somehow become a better place because of your work, especially in helping the less fortunate members of our society. You will be blessed a thousand fold for all your good deeds and ethics. 65 is just a number. Who says one has to stop being productive just because the law says one has to retire at this age. There are still many things you can do for many more years to come. A word of unsolicited advise tho - do take a break once in a while to be with family and just take in the moment to enjoy life. I continue to wish you and family all the best. Thanks for always being there. Lou
