Hello Ninong Rey! I'm so happy to have finally gotten in touch withyou. I sent you a Xmas ecard using your pacific address then figured you might not be using it anymore when you did not reply. I then asked Rodney to email me your current email, he sent me an ecard too but I could not retrieve it. He must have included your email ad in his ecard.
Anyways, I hope you, and your family are all doing fine. Jackie must have graduated from her Masteral Studies by now. Lance must be a handsome young man, and Therese also a blooming young lady by now. How is your Telehealth and your programs at OM ?
I'm sure that OM has made giant leaps in terms of the provision of quality health services to its patients, and in the education and training of its surgical students, residents and fellows. Because that seems to be your legacy, your "signature" , if you will, wherever you go. And I am proud to have been under your wings,.and truly, you have taught me a lot.
The surgical residents used to say the word "Josonic", whenever we would try to dissect a problem to its basic dimensions, and try to come up with effective solutions using a risk-benefit table. To be Josonic meant that one was being a critical thinker, and that one was being rational. I was proud to be called "Josonic" by my colleagues.
I am also sure that your projects advocating rational public health measures continue to create an impact , and effect change in our health delivery system. When I left, I know for one, that you were trying to convince a lot of the stakeholders against holding circumscision missions, and instead devote our limited resources to more essential health services.
I am sorry if I got a little carried away back there. I had prepared a similar letter for you before I left but I never got to give it. Actually, I had wanted to see you personally at your clinic before I left but somehow, I ran out of time as family matters got in the way. I just really wanted to make a courtesy call and inform you of my study plans, and most importantly, I just wanted to really talk to you and thank you.
I am very lucky that Canadian newspapers are very informative and progressive in the sense that they publish significant scientific papers which have a huge impact on public health and lifestyle. That is how I keep up to date these days. And I am lucky because my interests which are breast cancer, and studies on quality indicators of the health care delivery system get a lot of attention here.
This is all for now. I'm so happy to have finally connected with youagain. I will continue to email you. Please take care, and please send my warmest regards to Jackie and everybody.
Sincerely,
Malou
