Down With Acid
In 2015 I completed a book about acid reflux and its associated problems, entitled, "Down With Acid". In 2016, I received a grant from Southampton City Council to have a batch printed so they may be given FREE to other sufferers.
I wish it to be immediately accessible to anyone without needing a degree in medicine to understand it whilst providing enough technical information to enable meaningful discussion with doctors.
The book has been so successful, in 2017, a second edition (with minor revisions and additions) was printed paid for by donations of recipients of the first edition.
As the 2017 (yellow cover) batch "sold out", a final reprint was needed in 2019 (blue cover). For the first time it had a Recommended Retail Price (£8.99) so it could be sold on Amazon.
Barrett's Wessex's Spanish sister charity, Asenbar, won an award to have it translated into Spanish.
In 2020 the Spanish version, Apaga Tu Ardor (Turn Off Your Burning) was published.
Unfortunately COVID meant all normalvenues for distributing printed copies closed to us.
As the material was aging and prospective content rapidly increasing, I decided to abandon the printed encyclopaedia to make it online only.
The advantages are, it is easily regulalrly updated, extra pages are added easily including video.
Disadvantage is no printed copies remain for anyone who prefers that, though the content has probably tripled since 2020.

To date, a couple of thousand printed copies have been distributed with some ending up in Australia, USA and elsewhere.
Thousands of copies have been downloaded from its website and from Free-eBooks.net, whilst the website gains about 100 visits a day having been mentioned on Jeremy Vine's radio programme and in The Guardian.
