A major area of collaboration that I had with Bob was the joint supervision of three PhD students: Reza Momenan, Rash Mia, Waleed Youssef. Bob inspired, stimulated, and challenged them – a true teacher and mentor.
I regret I can't be with you today, but I am sure the full measure of the man will be evident and hope that a record of the tribute will be preserved to inspire future scientists everywhere.
