  • The mission of the RHYCSS is to instill a lifelong love of sailing and the water in children and adults by teaching sailing skills in a structured, safe and fun environment.
  • RHYCSS is a 501c3 educational public charity. We thrive on donations & volunteer efforts.
  • The RHYCSS can provide a tax deductible receipt to donors.
  • RHYCSS accepts donations of boats, boating equipment, and other items of value in good condition.
  • RHYCSS is a United Way of Kent County Community partner - we are dedicated to getting folks out on the water and experiencing sailing!
  • All donations to the RHYCSS are used by our organization to purchase instructional equipment upgrades, provide scholarships to local children in need, and assist our racing team to travel to area regattas.
  • The RHYCSS is affiliated with the Rock Hall Yacht Club, yet is a separate organizational entity with its own board of Directors.
  • The RHYCSS encourages both RHYC Members and Non-Members to participate in our programs.
  • The RHYCSS officially started teaching sailing in 2003.
  • RHYCSS instructs and introduces the sailing experience to approximately 100 students seasonally in varying levels of sailing from Pee-Wee through Racing Team.
  • The RHYCSS season is approximately 9 weeks each summer.
  • All sailing instruction at RHYCSS is by US Sailing Certified Instructors.
  • The RHYCSS has a strategic plan which includes growing our community outreach and expanding into STEM education to offer sailing to those that may not otherwise have an opportunity.
  • The RHYCSS hosts multiple area camps each year to introduce sailing and water activities in a hands–on environment. Recently, we partnered with Dayspring, Horizons of Kent and Queen Annes Counties, the Bayside Hoyas, and Dragonfly Heart Camp.
