"This was our party on the return trip from Armadia. Here you see us just after we had limped in to the Iraqi police outpost after being stranded for some hours in the desert, with no water and a dud engine. Second from left is one of the three desert police that gave us so much help in giving us food and water and getting us on the way again."

"The three of us at a small rest house near Armadia where we stopped for a drink of tea. They serve it as you can see, in the Russian fashion, in small glasses without milk - lots of sugar and some lemon. it is considered quite a luxury and doesnt taste at all bad either."
