DO NOT BLOCK THIS BILL.
ALLOW RETIRED PENSIONERS THEIR VOICE
March 2026. Industrial Relations (Provisions in Respect of Pension Entitlements of Retired Workers) Bill 2021 - Retired Workers Collective Network.
This Bill was sent to the Bills' Office to ascertain if it needs a “money message” .
Many pensioners believe the “money message” will be used to block the Bill as has happened to many Private Members’ Bills.
In this context RASA would encourage all retirees to make contact and/or write to their local TD to request their support for this Bill. More details available on Irish Senior Citizens parliament website.

RASA Pension Sub Committee February 2026 meeting with the Minister for Transport.
This was a follow up meeting from March 2025. At this meeting we shared our RASA two flyers – ‘REMIND & INFORM’ and graphic depicting ‘18 years of Austerity 2007-2025’. We reminded the Minister that RASA Pensioners/Retirees, former employees of Aer Lingus/DAA/SAA/SR-T in receipt of their pensions in 2014 have experienced an erosion approaching 55/60% due to levies, freeze on cost-of-living increases and retroactive legislative cuts without compensation/mitigation having contributed into their IASS Defined Benefit Occupational pension fund for up to 45 years.
IASS Pensioners/Retirees had no voice at the table and the only group of members within the IASS who did not receive compensation/mitigation for these benefit reductions. RASA wants this fixed
Correspondence to IASS Trustees, Sponsoring Employers & others.
RASA wrote on December 13, 2026, to the Trustees, Sponsoring Employers of the Irish Airlines Superannuation Scheme and others. This letter informed them of the strong expression of significant concerns by RASA retirees’ pensions in payment raised at the November 2025 AGM and other issues and the need for these addressed urgently.
RASA advised that we are available to meet.
However, to date there has been no response to our letter.
