This site will help you find, download and use free satellite images of unique places and times on Earth.
This remote sensing site was developed for teachers and students to obtain and analyze satellite data.
My name is Jackie Kane. I have taught public and private 7-12 grade science for over 30 years. I have just retired as of January 2021 after teaching physics, STEM and Geology topics for the last 21 years.
I built this site because I think there is so much that can be learned from satellite images of the Earth but most information about getting and using the images includes learning an imaging software and going through lengthy tutorials. It doesn't have to be that way.
I have streamlined the basics so you can more easily search a place and time within a few minutes, depending on your purpose and background. You then have an image or two to analyze, explore, use, and learn from. You can change the colors and even make it into your own artwork, albeit, the Earth is so beautiful as it is. I have included links to the best tutorials and professional sites, if you want to go further.
The site is designed so you can learn about the science, get images, or get directions on how change the image to show a particular feature. These topics are all on separate pages for easy reference (side menu). You can email me at : usingrs@gmail.com,
