E-WALL
Active living wall, called E-WALL, has been developed based on our research. This innovation combine 3 important components with flexible design. First component, 8 high PM2.5 removal efficiency plant species had been screened from more than 30 plant species. Growing these species as a main plant on E-WALL can probably give you a high PM2.5 removal efficiency too. Second component, PM2.5 tapping material, more than 10 materials was used to adsorb PM2.5. The best material was also installed on this wall to provide good PM2.5 removal efficiency. Finally, suitable air flow rate and direction, E-WALL was designed and installed air flow controller, which can provide suitable air flow rate and direction. The flow rate and direction used in this E-WALL was well studied in previous research from our laboratory. Therefore combination between high efficiency plant and material and suitable flow rate and direction can well create good air quality for user.
Not only high efficiency plant and material and suitable flow rate and direction but also simulation data showed that this E-WALL (2.4x3x1 m) can probably clean up indoor or semi-indoor air around 100 m2. While outdoor condition, this system can provide good air quality around the wall around 6-10 m2. In addition, E-WALL also include smart farming (automatic plant culture) technology and smart sensor (air quality index sensor) technology that can do watering plant and leaf washing automatically and also show air quality status though light color and on the screen. The E-WALL also support for IOT technology, which can control the operation system via your telephone and observe air quality data on cloud. This E-WALL is one of the best practical air phyto-remediation technology in the world which have well research support.
