Presented by Craig Mateyunas

Thursday, January 9, 2020

4:00-6:00pm

at Babylon Jr./Sr. High School, room 217

Cost is $25 per person

Description: In this workshop, each participant will work on creating a colored pencil drawing from a photograph they have taken. The photo should have an area of sharp focus, a prominent light source, and dramatic shadows that add depth while still showing detail. Prior to the workshop, each participant should select their photo and begin their drawing with either a Burnt Sienna or Dark Umber Prismacolor pencil. Start by mapping out the drawing, making sure proportions are correct. You may start to lightly shade your drawing if you would like, but we will go into colors and layering at the workshop. Having a drawing started prior to the workshop will allow for more time to discuss coloring techniques. By building up layers with multiple colors, a greater range of depth can be achieved and allow you to work with the colored pencils like paint, creating more interest in the final piece.

Please register by completing the form below by January 3rd. Payment due by January 8th.
