Town Hall 4 Farming Defense Setup:
As you can see, the primary strategy of this base is to protect the Mortar and storage units while placing your two cannons and archer towers on the perimeter of the base. The walls around the cannons and archer towers sticking out makes it difficult for Wall Breakers to break into the center. Of course, you can still get swarmed by larger numbers of Barbarians and Archers.

Town Hall 5 Farming Defense Setup:
Barbarians, Goblins and Giants are the main troops for raiding at this level. Giant-Healer is also a terrible combo that can 3 stars almost TH5, but with this base layout, it will be a hard job:
Town Hall 6 Farming Defense Setup:
With perfect trap placements and centered Air Defense (you can swap it with the Clan Castle), this base works well against Barch, Giant-Healer and some other popular attack strategies for TH6 and below.
Town Hall 7 Farming Defense Setup:
Town Hall 7 is the first level in Clash of Clans where players actually have enough walls, traps, and towers piece together a very effective defensive layout. With the right base set up, TH7 players can create a farming, war, or trophy setup that will make other players think twice before attacking.
While you can still get cleared by enemy players using more expensive units (like a full Dragon army), players using the layout recommended in this guide will find that the majority of attackers will end up sniping a Town Hall or taking out just 1 storage building, leaving the bulk of your loot untouched.
This build is known as “The Mantis” ,I was looking for a base that would easily swap with a Town Hall for Clan Wars . I was impressed with how well the base performed, and adopted this wall layout as my permanent base, moving the buildings around to adapt to different circumstances.
With the big increase in number of walls and towers available at Town Hall 7, this base has a lot going on as compared to early Town Hall defenses. Below, I will break down why certain buildings are placed the way they are and how the base plays out.
One new feature of this base not used at earlier Town Hall levels is the presence of three openings in the wall that serve to funnel Giants over Spring Traps or Big Bombs. When towers are close to one another with no walls between them, it is natural for Giants to move from one tower to the next. With only a single gap of space for the Giants to travel over and a Spring Trap placed carefully in this space, Giants get flipped.
Town Hall 8 Farming Defense Setup:
With centralized Clan Castle, It’ll be hard to lure your Clan troops. This base design has perfect storage placements too, they are equally protected with triangulated Air Defenses, Wizard Towers and squared Mortars. Barbarian King and Dark Elixir Storage are also in the core. Air Sweeper can cover both Dark Elixir Storage, two Air Defenses and Barbarian King.
Town Hall 9 Farming Defense Setup:
Town Hall level 9 introduces some new defensive buildings as the x-bow as well as a some more bricks of walls! It’s time to re-arrange your base. We have gathered both defensive and farmer setups. If your goal is to farm resources quickly you should go for the farmer base, and if your goal is a high trophy number, you should stick with the defensive layouts to protect your all mighty town hall.
