This photograph was taken by me while I was on a walk in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside in 2004.
At the time, I was only interested in taking a picture of the bridge where I used to fish from as a child, but as I pressed the shutter button on the camera there was a very loud splash and apart from a few resulting ripples after taking my eye away from the viewfinder, I did not see anything. There was nobody other than myself in the area at the time, I was alone. However, when I immediately viewed the results on the screen, I was surprised to see I had by coincidence pressed the camera button at the exact second as the splash occurred. I have often wondered if this had been a piece of space debris hitting the river, or was it a touch of paranoia? I am pretty sure it wasn't a large fish, or stone falling from the bridge but I don’t suppose I will ever know what it was. The photograph was taken with a Fujifilm FinePix 2800 Zoom Shutter Speed 1/90th and F2.8.
Notice the interesting shape of the water splash.
