This was my first attempt to make a Robot. Of course my first Robot does not look like a Micromouse but still this was my first Micromouse. I made this to participate in Micromouse competition at Techfest 2006, IIT Bombay.
A Micromouse is a completely autonomous robot designed to reach the center of an unknown 16x16 maze in shortest possible distance and time.
The premise of the MicroMouse contest is simple: design and build a small, autonomous robot that will find the center of a maze. The mouse that makes it to the center of the maze is the winner. If more than one mouse makes it, then the mouse that gets there the fastest will be the winner.
That was my 2nd year of Engineering, my project Bi-Directional Visitor Counter won 2nd prize, with that confidence I decided to make a Micromouse. Later on I came to know what a Micromouse is ? and understood that my knowledge is not sufficient to build a complete Micromouse. This mouse does not have a microcontroller, it does not use any algorithm to solve the maze. It had just two sensors and it will either keep moving forward or take a turn based on the sensor information.
