Addressing TRS-50 Troubles

The TRS-50 system continually monitors itself for conditions that may prevent it from operating correctly.  When a problem is detected, the operator will be notified by audio trouble tones and messaging on the screen.  Below are some of the common problems and corrective measures.  You may contact the Fire Alarm Superintendent at any time to assist with system troubles.

RF Alarm

The RF Alarm in the Vision 21 System occurs when on frequency energy is detected on the system channel. The RF Alarm is intended to warn the user of potential interference.  Most of these alarms have been minor interference issues and are easily cleared.

When the RF Alarm Trouble is given at the System Processor the operator should acknowledge the alarm. 

There is a Reset button on the radio module located with the Vision21 console.  Pressing the reset button will clear the alarm condition.

If the alarm condition returns, the Fire Alarm Superintendent must be contacted to determine the cause of the alarm. 

NOTE: Until the Radio Module is reset, the system sounds a short beep every 15 seconds to remind the operator that the RF Alarm still exists at the Radio Module.
