Rishi Bhat

Rishi Bhat is a noted internet entrepreneur who began his career at only age 15. He founded and ran the internet privacy and security firm SiegeSoft, as well as the web-based desktop service myEDesk.com for only a couple months before his companies caught the eyes of major venture capitalists as well as potential buyers. Bhat sold both companies to Vancouver-based Zimtu Technologies, a publicly traded company. Bhat became an overnight celebrity, being featured on virtually every local program and print medium, and most notably appearing on ABC's Good Morning America, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, and in BusinessWeek's Top 40 Under 40, The Financial Times, and the Times of India, among others. Particularly notable is that the Zimtu stock reached an all time high only hours after Bhat's Good Morning America appearance, causing many to speculate on Bhat's potential overnight millionaire status. Most recently he co-founded and served as the CTO of a mobile technology company.

As a member of the Purposeful Clouds Advisory Council, he lends his particular expertise in Cloud architectures, mobile technology, as well as information security. In particular, he has considerably experience writing concept-of-proof buffer overflow exploits for a variety of UNIX-based software, including daemons such as nameservers. He has expertise on both the client and server side of mobile applications - in particular he has been responsible for building clients on the BlackBerry/J2ME, other J2ME platforms, Symbian, iPhone and Android. In addition, he has built REST APIs on the server side to interface with such mobile clients using a LAMP stack.

Mr. Bhat completed both his bachelor's degrees (math and computer science) as well as a Master's degree (in computer science), all in only 4 years at University of Pennsylvania. Rishi is also interested in pursuing Ph.D program at the University of Pennsylvania.
