Brothers,
I hope this email finds you in good health and good spirits as we wrap up 2010. I hope you'll indulge me for a moment while I give you a quick update on the Psi U Foundation and our efforts with the 2010 Annual Fund.
Overall, 2010 has been a productive year. Throughout the economic struggles of the past few years, the Foundation has had to do more with less, and as the recovery moves forward, we are eager to put forth a great effort to grow the level of support we are able to provide to Psi U's members and chapters. The biggest source of that support comes from donations given to the Psi U Annual Fund. While our donations this past year have been strong, we are still nearly $12,000 short of our goal.
Our chapter has always been a major beneficiary of Psi U's scholarship program (4 winners this year alone -- most ever from a single chapter!) and our members are directly benefited by Psi U's leadership programs and chapter assistance. Additionally, our chapter is well represented on the Foundation and Executive Council boards to ensure that the unique needs of our chapter are consistently voiced to the Fraternity.
I'm proud to say that the Chi Delta chapter has already made 39 donations to the Psi U Annual Fund in 2010! I'm especially proud of the efforts of many of our undergraduates who have donated through the 1833 club. I'm thankful for the support of all of these donors but I know that we can do more!
I understand that our chapter has not always had the best relationship with our national organization (the Psi U watches story comes to mind). I personally know that many things have changed in the short time I have served on the board and we continue to become a more efficient organization to provide more benefits to our members than ever before. Our fraternity's very small staff does remarkable things for our chapters and without the support of a strong national organization, there wouldn't be any strong chapters. I also know that I don't have to sell Psi U to you. We all know of the great impact it had and/or continues to have on our lives. Support for the Annual Fund ensures that our chapter has the support it needs to continue to shape the young lives of countless more undergrads and continue the traditions that we have built over the last 37+ years of the Chi Delta.
I strongly encourage all of you to consider giving what you can to the Psi U Annual Fund by 12/31 so we can finish 2010 on a high note! Donations of all sizes help bring us closer to our goals. For more information on how to give please go to: http://www.psiu.org/give/index.html
Thank you for reading and I wish you all the best in 2011!
