Welcome to BEAM

BEAM is a community-based Early Intervention program serving children birth to age three. Our mission is to provide family-centered services and support to children who are experiencing, or who are at risk for, developmental delays and to promote the growth and development of these infants and toddlers within the context of the family’s daily life. We serve families with a culturally sensitive, educational approach designed to enhance family and community bonds. Our team of dedicated professionals provides individualized services in collaboration with caregivers to address their child and family specific needs, concerns and priorities.

Established in 1976 through a federal education grant, Project BEAM started as an early developmental support program for our community’s youngest members. The vision of an extraordinary woman, Jean Coppinger, BEAM’s program consisted of center-based group services for children with home supports for children and families. In the 1980's, BEAM became one of many community-based Early Intervention programs sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
