At Conrad Ball Middle School, I participated in a 6th grade advanced math class and a 7th grade advanced math class. Throughout the semester, I observed each class and helped out in whichever area the teacher needed assistance in. I co-taught a 90 minute lesson on scatterplots with another pre-service teacher to the 6th grade class where we created our own lesson plan using the SIOP lesson plan template. I have learned so much by being a part of these two middle school classes. I now know how important it is for students to be actively involved in every lesson each day. If they are not enjoying what they are doing, they will not learn. This class has also taught me how to create lesson plans that help me make sure that I have considered every aspect of the class period. Overall, I greatly enjoyed this class and all of the experiences it allowed me to have.
