This course focused on understanding and supporting literacy and numeracy development. Through this class I had field experience that took me to Wellington Middle School. I worked in math and special needs classrooms on literacy skills. Each week there was an acitivity that focused on a different skill that is useful to know. This was a helpful course for math because it showed students how to understand their thinking rather than just getting the right answer. After taking this class, I feel better prepared to guide my students to look deeper into their thought processes. I also received many resources in this class, from handouts to websites that I can use each and every day to help me plan my lessons. As my first field experience, I learned so much and feel more equipped to become a teacher.
