Methodology

The Process Management Framework identifies components of the process management: 1) management: Context, Strategy, Management, Evaluation, 2) execution : Planning, Development, Implementation, 3) performance : People, Technology, Costs / Benefits.

The model above shows the major steps in a process management project. The process management project may involve the transformation or the adaptation of the process.

The five major steps include: 1) the analysis of the context in order to understand needs and expectations and to define the scope of the process, 2) the planning of the process specifing vision and direction of the process, 3) the development including design process and system as well as aspects relating to staff and organizational structure, 4) implementing changes including testing, documentation and training, 5) evaluating the performance of the process.

The performance evaluation focuses on results (outputs) of each stage of the project. The evaluation is done using a performance scale of 0 to 10 where 0 means no performance and 10 optimal performance.

Subsequently, results of the performance evaluation are presented in graphical form.

The performance evaluation of a process improvement project can be done in line with the Performance Management Barometer.
