Get Ready!
Think of a character you want to dress up as for Friday
Decide which poem you'll have in your pocket (or in your head)
Make a list of your own personal "wow" books to share with your class
See if you have any old books at home that you've read and are ready to donate to the Grade 3 "Read & Recycle" sale.
Drop your books off in the Library @ AMK or at Reception @ Tampines
Finish reading as many of the Red Dot books as you can before voting begins.
Go to the library catalog homepage to watch short videos showing you the titles in the four categories.
(NB: Preparation for the Readers Cup teams won't start until Term 3.)
Follow the Book Buzz mini-blog for daily online treats relating to books & reading
A book nook is a special corner for reading books before school and throughout Morning Break and Lunch Break. There will be ten of them on the AMK campus (thanks to Grade 3).
Bring a book and find one!
Be A Shelf Elf
Each class needs to pick 2 shelf elves (it rhymes better with the f in it) each day of Book Week.
Only shelf elves can be in the library at morning break. This special shelf elf time will include:
shelf elfs experiencing some special "top shelf" books,
shelf elfs choosing two books to get out in their teacher's name and bring back to share with their class, (and returning the two from the previous day's shelf elf)
and perhaps even some special shelf elf snacks.
Click here to learn more about Fred's visits to UWC and see a preview of "Chalk".
"Read & Recycle" sale by Grade 3 students, to raise money to buy books for our service projects in Cambodia and Indonesia. Students are encouraged to donate any of their own books that they have read and are ready to part with.
Guest readers throughout the week and throughout the school
Each grade will be having their own special activities relating to Book Week.
