A very famous recreational mathematician (meaning someone who does math for fun) named Martin Gardner just died at the age of 95. He wrote over 70 books on mathematics, but was most famous for his articles about math puzzles every month in the magazine, Scientific American.

Martin Gardner was just as interested in magic as he was in mathematics — and he explains how the two are connected in this 45-min video. It’s long, but very interesting — and quite a few magic tricks are demonstrated (and explained).
